Wizard's Help Thermostat Options

Thermostat Options

Your thermostats give you control over the temperature in each zone of your radiant heating system. Every zone needs its own thermostat, and the type you choose determines how much control, automation, and precision you’ll have. The good news is that most thermostat types work well with HUG Hydronics, so it really comes down to what fits your home and lifestyle.

Basic thermostats are simple to use and give you a straightforward way to set your temperature. If you prefer a “set it and forget it” approach, this is often the easiest option. Programmable thermostats let you schedule different temperatures throughout the day, which can save energy if certain rooms are used at predictable times.

Wi-Fi-enabled and Smart thermostats add remote control and automation, allowing you to adjust the temperature from your phone or integrate it with your home assistants. These are ideal for tech-forward homes or frequent travelers. They’re perfect for cabins!

For radiant systems, slab-sensing thermostats provide the most precise control. They measure the floor temperature directly, which is especially helpful for wood, tile, or radiant-heavy spaces where steady, even heat matters. These thermostats prevent overheating and maintain consistent comfort across the whole surface.

Choosing the right thermostat is all about how you want to interact with your system. The Wizard gives you solid options from which to choose, but if you’re unsure which one fits your project best, a member of our team will help you fine-tune your selection when you submit your build.
