Wizard's Help Heat Losses
About Heat Losses
Every home loses heat, and understanding how that happens helps us size your radiant heating system correctly. The Wizard uses a few simple details about your home, like insulation levels, ceiling height, and the number of windows, to estimate how much heat your system needs to deliver to keep you comfortable.
Windows are one of the biggest sources of heat loss in a home. Even the best modern windows allow warmth to escape, and homes with many windows often require more heating power. South-facing windows can capture solar heat during the day, but once the sun sets, that warmth slips right out the glass.
Ceiling Height also plays a major role. Taller ceilings increase the volume of air your system must heat, and since heat naturally rises, more output is needed to keep the warmth down where you feel it, at floor level.
Your home’s insulation level determines how long heat stays inside your home. Newer homes are usually well insulated and retain warmth efficiently, while older homes or unfinished basements may lose heat more quickly. Better insulation reduces the load on your radiant system and helps maintain steady comfortable temperatures.
The Wizard uses all this information to provide a strong starting point, and once you submit your project, our team will help you fine-tune the details to make sure the system matches your home perfectly.
The Wizard is just a fancy piece of software that is a minimum viable product (New updates coming), So if you are doing a unique, large, or special project, please contact sales directly (218-587-5001), and they will be delighted to help you.
