how to add a Y splitter kit (short kit)

How to Install a short Wye Splitter Kit (after your system has been running).

  1. Turn off the HUG Hydronics system by the power switch on the power supply. Check to make sure the “Power” light on the control board is off.
  2. Locate the silicone hoses (outgoing and return) to which the wyes will be added. Disconnect them from the PEX tubes.
  3. Trim the pump hose you are adapting by 6”. You do not have to do this step, but it will give you a neater finish and allow it to fit under the top cover.
  4. Lubricate the top of the Wye splitter with water, oil, or antifreeze. 
  5. Slide the Wye splitter in the end of the pump hose.
  6. Attach each of the 6” blue hoses at the end of Wye splitter to the PEX pipe planned for it. 
  7. Secure with the clamp tightening (push it as far together as you can) the connection of the blue hose and the PEX pipe.
  8. Double check the outgoing and incoming connections you’ve just made for correctness.
  9. Power up the system and enjoy warm floors.

How to Install the Long Hose Wye Splitter Kit:

  1. Turn off the HUG Hydronics system by the power switch on the power supply. Check to make sure the “Power” light on the control board is off.
  2. Locate the silicone hoses (outgoing and return) to which the wyes will be added. Disconnect them from the PEX tubes, and from the pump.
  3. Connect the new hose to the pump by pushing it on. Put the new hose through the holes the old hose used.
  4. Replace the return hose with the new Wye splitter hose.
  5. Attach each of the 6” blue hoses at the end of Wye splitter to the PEX pipe planned for it. 
  6. Secure with the clamp tightening (push it as far together as you can) the connection of the blue hose and the PEX pipe.
  7. Repeat for each Blue hose/PEX pipe connection.
  8. Double check the outgoing and incoming connections you’ve just made for correctness.
  9. Power up the system and enjoy warm floors.
